Footwear Gets Wild with Bromstad for Naturalizer Collection

by Kéla Walker

One of my favorite interior designers, David Bromstad is taking his eye for style to the next level and stepping into fashion with the Bromstad for Naturalizer collection.  I had lunch with the designer himself and got a first hand look at the new comfy cool collection.

In celebration of the new Bromstad for Naturalizer collection fashionistas were invited to Park Avenue Autumn for a fusion of fashion food- my two favorite thing.  Designer David Bromstad was on hand and shared his excitement for the new collection and how wildly different it is for him. Its the second The Bromstad for Naturalizer collection for the HGTV design star and the shoe company and a natural step for the interior designer who’s artistic skill and bold design have been a fan favorite for some time now. Infusing a touch of wild into the new Fall Collection David kicks up the kute factor with the  line, known for their comfy footwear.

For the design process, Naturalizer commissioned David to do an original painting for collection.  It features his unique inpretation of color and prints, specifically animal prints – combing four animal prints into one single canvas. It’s pictured below,  positioned behind David at the luncheon.  Isn’t it lovely?!  One lucky guest got to walk away with it.  I kind of hate her considering I had vision for that piece in my home as soon as they announced it would be given way.

The painting served as inspiration for the Bromstad for Naturalizer collection. Each of the animal prints were used throughout the line, stringing it all together.  As a result the cool and comfy collection consist of Fall essentials-boots,bags and scarf that add  just the right amount of edge to your Fall wardrobe.

The leather and leopard bootie, or the “Tanya”, seems to be an editor favorite as most of the attendees were sporting them at the luncheon.   I on the other hand opted for the flats when asked to try the shoes.  I picked out the “Leap” – black velvet and gold snake- flat.  You know I love a great flat as much as a fierce stiletto and its the perfect shoe for running around town cute and comfy.  I call it my commutter shoe.  They are a great transition shoe  through Fall.   There was even a shoefie picture opportunity! -HOW CUTE IS THAT?!  Here’ s Patrice of Looking Fly on A Dime getting in on the Shoefie cam action

Great minds think a like because I captured a shoefie in route to the event before I even knew about the event shoefie

Naturalizer is known for comfy budget friendly shoes and this partnership with David for the Bromstad for Naturalizer collection add a cool edge to the brand.    Check out this video for more insight on the line and David’s take on it and check out the line here  and look for them at your favorite retailers.
