Essence Fall Style
by Kéla Walker
Finally the secret is out, yours truly is featured in the Fall fashion / September issue of Essence Magazine *squeals*. I’m so excited to have Kéla’s Kloset’s first feature in the legendary magazine and with my girl krush Kelly Rowland on the cover… YAY !!!
Just as you settle into the summer groove of things it’s time to start talking about fall and other post summer activities -back to school anyone. Kelly Rowland graces the cover of Essence Magazine’s September issue looking AH-MAZING as ever. I’m loving her look from top to bottom and can’t wait to revisit a couple of pieces in my kloset to channel this fierce Fall look she is serving. I love this cover and not just because I’m included in the issue. I’m offering my list of things your kloset shouldn’t be without this Fall as one of the magazine’s “favorite tastemakers” along with Chris Law of Fresher Than Chris and my bewcakes, Christina Brown of Love Brown Sugar. As you may have guessed it my picks include prints, statement pieces and a few simple items to help make your entry into fall effortlessly stylish.
Speaking of which, I’m a loving this fit and flare dress I recently scored from a sample sale. The solid color style is a much needed addition to my kloset that’s filled with plenty of prints and patterns as you know. But you know it’s hard for me to without a print of some sort and these printed peep-toe platform pumps were the perfect punctuation to this look that works for both summer and fall.
I’m so humbled and forever grateful to have been asked to be a part of the issue. This is one of those high moments I talked about in my Bloggiversary post in June. It’s every woman’s dream to be featured in this iconic magazine. Although I have graced the pages of Essence before (in their street style page with the Wendy Williams cover) it’s quite another thing to be considered for a story (a fashion one no less) and be referred to as one of their ”favorite tastemaker” AND to be alongside blogger bigwigs Chris and Christina. I mean they could have picked anyone. I’m so GRATEFUL. HUGE THANKS TO THE ESSENCE MAGAZINE FASHION TEAM !
