New New ~ Kate Young for Target Jumpsuit

by Kéla Walker

It was love at first sight when I saw this Kate Young for Target jumpsuit.  It was the first thing  I headed for at the NYC event earlier this week.  But now that it’s mine and in my kloset I have to admit,  I have a few qualms with it…

You know I’m a fan of a good jumpsuit.  They are super flexible and in my opinion the perfect piece to maximize in your kloset.  This Kate Young for Target one has a tuxedo feel to it with double breasted buttons and lapels to match – IT”S SUPER CUTE.  The only problem is,  it’s not practical.  Already jumpsuits are troublesome- you practically get undressed every time you go to the ladies room and this one is really difficulty to get into and even more so to get out of.  (Luckily I didn’t have to go to the rest room all day- seriously)  There is only one functioning button and a side zipper that stops short of opening the jumpsuit up and making it easy to get in and out of (see what I’m talking about in my latest video). It’s a wiggle piece requiring a lot of squirming to get into.  Also, as you can see this jumpsuit has a boxy structure and isn’t the most feminine piece in the collection but hey it is menswear inspired. Combine all of that with the fact that it’s $80 bucks (a bit much for a target piece ) and I think the piece and the collection in general is a little overrated.  My suggestion is to wait until the inevitable happens and pick it up on the sales rack.
