I’ve been a fan of the Barbershop Flicks since day one so when Creme of Nature invited me to a special screening of the third film in the franchise, Barbershop: The Next Cut, it was a no brainer. What I thought was just a regular movie night with the blogger baes ended up being a start studded affair with the cast which of course led to lots of shenanigans like trying to steal kisses from Common. True story. I know it sounds crazy which is why I caught the whole thing on my snapchat and now for the first time ever I’m sharing my story with you so this ememory can live on FOREVA *CardiB voice*

The Anti World Tour in Brooklyn. OMG. Where do I start… I don’t know if it was because it was my first time seeing Rihanna perform live or because Im in love with her Anti album but I was all the way into it and thanks to Zappos I got to enjoy the entire experience with my baby sister.
Like everyone I was pretty estactic about the Black Girls Rock Award show this past week. It’s one of my favorite events to attend but can I tell you how I almost ccompletely missed the show.
WOOO HOOO! I’m ridiculously giddy to be heading to the taping of the Black Girls Rock Award Show today. It’s my absolute favorite event to attend and watch. It’s filled with so much black girl magic. Legit- it’s as if glitter is floating in the air. Every one walks around standing tall, proud and inspired- loving the skin they’re in. It’s very magical not to mention the place is filled with all your favorite black girls who rock. Girl crush on top of girl crush to infinity. The magic of it all makes me think of this segment I did a few weeks ago during the Leading Women Defined Conference in Miami when I got to chat with a few of my favorite black girls who rock. Watch as they explain how real and unapologetically they are about their Black Girl Magic. I’m hoping it will hold you over until the actual Black Girls Rock award show airs next week.

I got my bangs and this suede moto jacket around the same time – the bangs are long gone but this jacket isnt going anywhere anytime soon. This bordeaux goodness has been a God send these days in NYC with the weather being so bipolar. You’d never guess the insane deal I got on it.
How often have you thought to yourself, “Quit Your Day Job and just go work for it”? If you’re anything like me, or many of my friends, you’ve had that thought more times than you care to remember. There’s a lot that goes into taking that leap of entrepreneurship. One friend recently described it as running naked in the streets. YIKES. Forget the guts and glory that it takes, the know-how and money is what paralyses most people. It’s why I’m so intrigued by Oxygen’s new series Quit Your Day Job which tackles those issues head on giving prospective entrepreneurs the tools they need to take their business to the next level and that ultimate leap of faith to quit their day job.
